Commercial Capabilities

The NAKOA Company’s commercial customers are never to small or never to far away for us to meet any of their unique demands. Our past commercial customers includes the Pacific Gateway Center, a historical renovation project in Honolulu’s China Town district, upgrade The Pepsi Bottling plant in Honolulu, maintain and remodel the campus of the Holy Nativity Church and School in Honolulu, and Kamehameha Schools, in the Big Island of Hawaii, work with the Honolulu Community Development Housing Authority, and in Johnston Atoll, relocated government property for Ch2M Hill Company.

Hawaii’s China Town district has roots dating back to 1859. Restoring a historical building to meet the demands of the 21st century needs was challenging. Our client, the Pacific Gateway Center Building needed a new facelift outside and in to accommodate their new retail tenants. Please click on the photo album to see more pictures of this project.

NAKOA Builders, A division of the NAKOA Companies, Inc. specializes in commercial tenant improvements, Remodeling and Re-Construction.  In 2003, NAKOA Builders was fortunate in being awarded a contract with Peer Management on Iroquois Point on West Oahu. Approximately 250 living units were refurbished to Peer’s high standards. In 2004, Kalaeloa Housing contracted with NAKOA Builders to improve over 50 housing units in Barbers Point for new renters. In 2005, Hunt Construction contracted with NAKOA Builders to renovate 440 Kitchens and Bathrooms in South Iroquois Point. Complete New Kitchens and Baths were installed along with new paint and flooring.

In 2006, NAKOA Builders contracted with Lend Lease Actus to install approximately 450 wall-mounted air conditioners in Helemano. Rigid Scheduling parameters provided a challenge to NAKOA Builders Project Management as very little tolerance was built into the scheduling process to allow for delays.  Also in 2006, NAKOA Builders renovated the temporary Coach Store in Whalers Village and renovated several Starbucks stores on Maui and Oahu.

Currently, NAKOA Builders recently completed a new Jamba Juice Store in Waianae and is working on a new one in Ala Moana Market Place.  The company is also doing work for Tommy Bahama’s on The Big Island and Maui.  Work on Ruth Chris steak house also completes the list of current clients. NAKOA is both honored and excited to be able to work with such distinguished clients and look forward towards working with others who value quality workmanship and prized results.
